THE DETAILS
Privacy policy
Effective September 24, 2026
This policy explains how Honeydew, LLC (“we”) handles information when you use Sips and sips-app.com. Contact support@honeydew-app.com with privacy questions or requests.
Playing Sips
Sips stores the player names you enter, your preferences, free-deck claims, responsible-play acknowledgement, and your saved game on your device. The app does not send those names or your answers to prompts to us. You can clear players and the saved game in Settings. Removing the app clears its local data, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes payments. RevenueCat helps us validate purchases, restore paid decks, handle refunds and understand purchase activity. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction information, product identifiers, purchase dates, entitlement status, an automatically generated app user identifier, and technical information such as app/SDK version, platform, language and currency. We do not receive your payment-card number.
We use this information to provide and restore paid content, prevent fraud, troubleshoot purchases, and analyze sales. Sips uses RevenueCat’s anonymous app identifiers and does not require an app account. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy, Apple’s privacy policy, and Google’s privacy policy for their practices.
Optional usage analytics in updated versions
Updated Android versions (1.0.1 and later) and iPhone and iPad versions (1.0.2 and later) remove Meta's advertising technology and offer usage analytics through PostHog. These versions do not request permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Earlier installed versions work differently, as explained below. Updating this policy does not update your installed app.
In Android version 1.0.1 build 13 and later, and iPhone and iPad version 1.0.2 and later, usage analytics is on by default when no previous analytics choice is saved. A saved choice to turn it off stays off after an update. Android build 12 starts with analytics off. In version 1.0.2 and later, analytics starts only after the responsible-play introduction is acknowledged. That acknowledgement is stored locally and does not change your analytics preference. You can change your choice using Usage analytics in Settings at any time. When on, it sends a random identifier for this app installation, deck and card identifiers, content revision, entered group size, card views and advances, saves and resumes, explicit discards or completion, approximate event times and viewing-duration buckets, and app version, build and platform. We use this to improve decks and understand app use and return visits. The random identifier is not your name, store account, advertising identifier or RevenueCat identifier, but activity can be associated with the same installation. We do not call this data fully anonymous.
We do not send player names, personalized card text, answers, recordings, screenshots, contacts, precise location or advertising identifiers to PostHog. We disable geographic enrichment and discard IP addresses from stored analytics events. Network providers still process IP addresses to deliver and protect requests. Analytics is not connected to advertising networks, purchase identities, or other apps. Optional AI analysis and AI training in our PostHog organization are disabled.
Turning the switch off stops new usage collection and clears unsent events, without affecting gameplay or purchases. It does not automatically erase already delivered records. Re-enabling creates a fresh analytics reference without linking it to the previous one; keep your old reference for any request about earlier activity. Unsent events expire after seven days and the local queue is size-limited. Our PostHog Free plan provides a one-year event window, but that window is not a guaranteed deletion deadline or a 90-day purge. Deletion requests are handled separately and asynchronously. PostHog processes data in its US Cloud and through its service providers. See PostHog's privacy policy and event retention explanation.
We may share reviewed aggregate deck or campaign statistics with sponsors, with small groups suppressed. We do not sell usage records or provide sponsors with installation identifiers or individual activity trails.
Earlier versions: measuring our ads
Android versions before 1.0.1 and iPhone and iPad versions before 1.0.2 can still use their original optional Meta ad measurement until you update. We removed our RevenueCat-to-Meta purchase forwarding integration on September 17, 2026. That does not remove Meta code from an older installed app or erase historical information already received by Meta. The following describes those versions and historical sharing, not the new usage-analytics feature.
With your permission, we work with Meta to understand which ads bring people to Sips and make our ads more relevant. Its technology helps connect activity in Sips with information from other apps and services to measure, target and deliver ads.
Shared information can include device and advertising identifiers, anonymous app identifiers, IP address, app activity, and purchase details such as the deck, time, price and currency. Technical information and crash reports may also be processed for reliability and analytics. Player names, your saved game and card text stay out of ad measurement. Purchases are managed through RevenueCat whether or not you opt in.
It’s optional. On iPhone and iPad, we ask through Apple’s permission prompt. You can manage your choice in your device’s Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking. Sips may not appear there if your device or account restricts tracking requests. On Android, we ask in the app, and you can change your choice under Ad measurement in Sips Settings. Saying no won’t change the game or your ability to buy decks.
Turning this off stops new ad measurement and clears the advertising identifiers we attach to RevenueCat. It doesn’t automatically delete information already received by our partner, which may retain it under its policies. See Meta’s privacy policy for more information.
Support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use that information to answer your request and resolve problems. Please do not send payment-card details or other information unnecessary to your request.
This website
Render hosts sips-app.com and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. This site does not use advertising cookies, analytics scripts or a mailing-list form. Fonts and illustrations are served with the site.
Sharing and retention
We use service providers for hosting, email, optional usage analytics and purchase management. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect rights and prevent fraud. Earlier versions can share the optional ad-measurement information with Meta as described above. Depending on applicable law, this may be considered sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell player names or gameplay information.
We retain purchase records as needed to maintain entitlements and meet accounting, legal and fraud-prevention obligations. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and follow-up issues. Service providers may retain records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Your choices and requests
In versions with usage analytics, you can turn off Usage analytics in Settings at any time. To request access or deletion of delivered analytics, turn it off and include the analytics reference shown in Settings in your privacy request. We do not need player names to locate that installation's records. Keep the reference until your request is resolved: reinstalling or resetting local data can make prior records harder to locate. Deletion does not remove purchase entitlements, and we will explain any verification or retention limits applicable to your request.
You can clear local gameplay information in the app’s Settings. To request access, correction or deletion of information held by us or by RevenueCat on our behalf, email support@honeydew-app.com with the subject “Sips privacy request.” We may ask for enough information to verify and locate the relevant record. Do not include your password or full card details.
Deleting purchase information may affect our ability to restore paid decks. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting or security reasons. Apple and Google manage their own store records; deleting app data does not delete those records or request a refund.
Adults and international processing
Sips is intended for adults, not children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
